Selima Opticals at Christie's Auction of the Elizabeth Taylor Collection

Although it happened months ago, the Selima Optique crew was proud to see a pair of our frames and two others purchased at our stores take part in Christie's landmark online auction of select pieces from the estate of legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor.

Considered "the greatest collection of fashion" by Marc Porter, Chairman of Christie's America, the auction is considered to have been one of the most highly anticipated sales in history with a 100% sell through and marks
the most valuable collection of fashion ever offered as well as Christie's first online-only auction.

Known for an eagle's eye for all things ultra-luxe and well-crafted, Taylor's sartorial bravado signaled different periods of her life while inadvertently encapsulating the times through her remarkable personae. Fashions may come & go, and true, Taylor had many a remarkable shift herself, yet there's no denying that through the years, she undeniably amassed a collection that speaks endless volumes on the power & charisma of such an emblematic actress.
